About the role

Working with the Promo NPD Manager, the jobholder will be responsible for delivering New Product Developments from concept stage through to industrialisation. The prime focus of this role is Promotional Packaging NPD, but work in other technology areas may be required.

 

The role requires the jobholder to work as part of the NPD team, supporting the design from and Engineer perspective and support the plants when new tools are installed including commissioning new products and NPD production lines.

 

You will also use new and existing tools to create models of our products to support the commercial process and prove the effective application of new tooling.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Creation of models from new and existing tools, and using engineering and model making skills to create mock ups where full tools may not be available.
  • Coordination of tooling availability for model making, communication with the commercial team, planning and organisation of model making.
  • Commissioning support for all new products and NPD production lines. 
  • Validation of new tooling to ensure first off samples are at the required standards. 
  • Provide a problem-solving resource to the operations, helping resolve manufacturing issues in Eviosys plants.
  • Use CAD (SolidWorks) to design metal packaging components, tools, and machine parts.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to projects managed in other R&D teams, and elsewhere in Eviosys.
  • Coordinate and develop continuous improvement ideas within Promo NPD and Promo plants.
  • Concepting & idea generation to answer initial customer project briefs.
  • Develop added value processes for the promotional market. 
  • Support the NPD Project Engineers in deployment of their projects.
  • Visiting and engaging with suppliers of machinery applicable to our existing or improved processes.

Key SKills

Essential

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or HNC/equivalent or relevant experience
  • A strong mechanical design ability with CAD experience
  • Experience and ability to perform hands on tooling and machine set-up
  • A problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

 

Desirable

  • Knowledge of promotional packaging products and product design
  • Experience in manufacturing environment
  • Full UK driving licence
